Chocolate Chip Cookies

I love a chocolate chip cookie. And honestly—who doesn’t?

Living in New York, I’ve done my fair share of “research.” Every bakery claims to have the best cookie in the city, and to be fair… a lot of them are very good.

But when it comes to baking at home, I don’t overcomplicate it.

Some recipes just work—and this is one of them.

For that reason, I always come back to the classic: the Nestlé Toll House chocolate chip cookie recipe. It’s simple, reliable, and exactly what you want a chocolate chip cookie to be.

Pro Tip: Always Toast Your Nuts

If you’re adding nuts—toast them first.

Toasting:

  • Deepens flavor
  • Brings out natural oils
  • Adds a better crunch

How to toast:

  • Oven at 350°F
  • 5–10 minutes
  • Watch closely (they burn fast)

Optional Debate: Raisins?

This is… controversial. My mom adds raisins. I don’t mind them. My sister actively removes them mid-bite.

  • We’re leaving this one up to you.

Notes from the Kitchen

  • Perfect consistency for me is crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside.
  • Always try a cookie still warm from the cooling rack, this is the best it will ever be!
